Marjorie was born December 14, 1934 in Little Rock, Arkansas. She passed away peacefully August 21, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents Kathryn Pittman Young and Edward Janney Young; her husbands Jonathan William "Dutt" Fox, Sr. and Robert Alexander Garner,Jr.
Marjorie grew up in Dawson, Georgia. She graduated with Honors from Terrell County High School, Agnes Scott College and the University of Georgia where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority.
Marjorie was a member of the NSDaughters of the American Revolution Stone Castle Chapter, Dawson, Georgia 1956. She served as State Regent (1978-80), Vice-President General (1981-84) and Honorary State Regent. She was also a member of the Daughters of 1812 and the Daughters of the Confederacy.
Marjorie was a devout Episcopalian. She was an active member of several churches in Georgia; St. Paul's (Albany); Church of the Redeemer (Greensboro); St. Elizabeth's (Dahlonega) and Emmanuel Church (Athens). She was long active in the Daughters of the King.
Marjorie is survived by her sister Jan Young Wilkinson; sons Jonathan William "Bill" Fox, Jr. (Judy) and Mark Edward Fox (Kelly); grandchildren Laura Leigh Fox, Jonathan William Fox III, Schayne Victoria Fox and Shelby Caroline Fox.
Marjorie was proud of being an American, loving wife, mother, grandmother and a Georgia Bulldog fan. She enjoyed a good hand of bridge, good food and being with friends. Life was not always easy but she faithfully spent time in prayer and meditation. She is at peace in the arms of her Savior.
Her family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at The Oaks of Athens(formerly Morningside), Inspiring Hospice, Kindred Hospice and Piedmont Athens Regional Pulmonary Unit for their loving care, kindness and compassion.
A private family graveside service will be held later. Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, East is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Marjorie's name to Meadow Gardens, 1320 Independence Drive, Augusta, Georgia 30901.
