Marie Anne (DeLattre) Patten

Marie Anne Patten, 85, wife of Bernard C. Patten, died Saturday, July 30, 2016. Born in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Wally DeLattre. She received her AB degree with a sociology major in 1961 from the College of William and Mary, and from the University of Georgia an MSW (Social Work) in 1980, and in 1983 a PhD in Special Education. Survivors in addition to her husband include one daughter, Karen Marie Patten, and her domestic partner, Patricia Mary Hall, both of Atlanta; grandchildren: Coleman Hall Patten and Bennett Hall Patten; brother-in-law: Harvey Lee Patten; sister-in-law: Isabelle Madeline Nepil; nieces: Susan Bottita, Patricia Livingston, and Pamela Vernucioni; and nephew: Charles Warkenthien. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, August 3 at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 498 Prince Avenue, Athens. Interment will follow at Oconee Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the interment at the Oconee Hill Cemetery Sexton House. Viewing Tuesday 7 pm at Lord & Stephens East Chapel.
