Marguerite H. Wood

Marguerite H. Wood, 89, wife of Donald W. Wood, died Monday, May 21, 2012.
A native of Athens, she was the daughter of the late Clarence S. and Ina Ogletree Hammond and mother of the late Donna Shirley. She was a member of Edwards Chapel Baptist Church and a homemaker.
Survivors in addition to her husband include a daughter and son in law, Debbie and Ricky Payne of Watkinsville; brothers: Curtis Hammond of Winterville, Kenneth Hammond of Athens; sisters: Juanita Porterfield of Watkinsville; Lolita Brown of Hull and one grandson: Jeremy Payne.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 11AM at Oconee Chapel Funeral Directors with Pastor Lee Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Edwards Baptist Church.
Oconee Chapel Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
