Enterprise Community - Marguerite Black, 89, died January 23, 2007.
Marguerite was one of ten children born January 14, 1918 and raised in Enterprise by her parents Garfield and Nora Eberhardt. She was married to Harry Black and they had two children, Shirley and Wayne. Marguerite and Harry were life long residents of the Enterprise Community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, in 1981 and her son, Wayne, in 1986, who was a dentist in Elberton.
Marguerite was a homemaker and a retired seamstress from the Elberton Manufacturing Plant. She was a life long member of Burts United Methodist Church. She had many friends in the Enterprise community.
Marguerite is survived by a daughter, Shirley Mathews, son-in-law, Maurice Mathews, daughter-in-law, Barbara Fogg, four grandchildren, Terry and Wendell Mathews and Ben and Breigh Black and one great grandson, Ryan Mathews.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 25, 2007 at 11AM at Burts United Methodist Church with Rev. Russell Bruce officiating. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ben Black, Terry Mathews, Wendell Mathews, Mike Kantor, Jeff Dowdy, Medhi Zareie, Paul Eberhardt, Bob Fogg and Ryan Mathews.
The family will receive friends at Lord and Stephens Oglethorpe Chapel tonight from 6 to 8 PM.
