Athens - Margie Hale Spearman, 53, passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2008 after an extended illness with cancer.
Born in Griffin, Ga., she was a daughter of Mary Green Hale of Athens and the late Abe Lincoln Hale Sr. and was a longtime employee of Flowers, Inc. and worked with Fire and Flavor in Bogart for the last several years. She was a member of East Athens Baptist Church.
Memorial services will be Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 2 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST, with Rev. Don Leaptrott officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service.
Survivors in addition to her mother include her daughter and son-in-law, Sommer and Jeff Sorrells and their children, Bailey, Celsey and Josey, all of Arnoldsville; sister and brother-in-law, Lorey and Perry Reeves of Athens and their children, Michelle and Meredith; brothers and sister-in-law, Lin Hale of Athens, Michael and Margaret Hale of Watkinsville and their children, Brad and Beth; lifelong friends, Lori Brightwell Dillard and family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Benevolent Fund of East Athens Baptist Church, 4325 Lexington Road, Athens, GA 30605.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
