Athens - Margaret Highsmith Rains, 86, died Monday, December 24, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospital.
A native of Crawford County, IL, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Emma Stecher Highsmith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Marie Highsmith.
Survivors include her daughter: Linda S. Rains of Black Mountain, NC; son and daughter in law: Larry and Sue Rains of Athens, GA; grandchildren: Kelly Margaret Rains and Jay Thomas Rains.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 29, 2007 from 12:00 until 2:00PM at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted.
