Athens, GA - Margaret Orene Phillips, 95, died January 18, 2008.
A native of Oconee County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Powatan and Lydia Mae Bell Stovall. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Phillips, Sr.; two daughters, Elizabeth Batchelor of Bostwick and Pauline Daily of Oneonta, AL; and four sisters, Helen Champlain, Sarah Woodworth, Virginia Marshall and Catherine Jones.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 23, 2008, at 3:00 PM at Salem United Methodist Church, Farmington. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include four children, Donald C. Phillips of Watkinsville, GA, Clarence Phillips of Goshen, OH, Jeanette Smith of Watkinsville, GA and Jerry C. Phillips of Las Vegas, NV; a total of eighty grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Phillips, Johnny Daily, Travis Batchelor, Benny Hughes, Josh Phillips and Johnny Marshall.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home and Wednesday from 1:00 until service time at the church.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
