Margaret Earline Mercer, 88, of Bishop, died Monday, October 20, 2014. Born in Madison county to the late James and Bell Duncan Moon, she was the youngest of eight children. Earline was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and received Christ at age 11.
Earline is survived by her husband of 64 years, John E. Mercer, children, Carol (Dale) Bishop, of Bishop, Dr. Dwayne (Pam) Mercer, of Oviedo FL, and Barry (Alexandria) Mercer, of Flowery Branch, granchildren, Tammy Morrow, Michael Poole, Brandon Mercer, Jarred Mercer, Matthew Mercer, Lauren Mercer, Christen Lankford, Will Bishop, Jacob Bishop, and Natalia Mercer, as well as ten great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, October 22 from 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held Thursday, October 23, at 2:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, West chapel with Dr. Dwayne Mercer and Rev. Brandon Mercer officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
