Athens - Margaret Hart Carson Gregg, 84, of Mulberry Grove, died January 30, 2007.
Born in Vance, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Lewis Ashton and Maggie Dantzler Carson and widow of Winston Reed Gregg, Sr. Mrs. Gregg loved to travel and was an avid reader and UGA sports fan. She attended Athens First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her children, Virginia Gregg Jones (Gene), of Winterville and Winston Reed Gregg, Jr. (Nancy), of Hiawassee; brother, Lewis (Bo) Carson (Mary Lee), of Morganton, N.C.; five grandchildren, Diane Eller (Jim), Dennis Luckey (Anne), Dale Luckey (Amy), Beth Connell (Rick) and Reed Gregg; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Court, Janie Hart, Lauren, Graham, Brittany, Michael, Joseph and Julianna; aunt, Katherine Senn, of The Methodist Oaks, Orangeburg, S.C. and a number of loved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the John Wesley room of Athens First United Methodist Church, Friday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Services will follow in the church chapel at 1:00 PM with Revs. Grady Wigley and David Gattie officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the Methodist Children's Home, Decatur, GA or The Methodist Oaks, Orangeburg, SC.
Lord and Stephens, EAST, is in charge of arrangements.
