Mrs. Margaret Claire Harrison Green of Edison, GA passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016.
Mrs. Green was born on January 27, 1930 in Damascus, GA. She was the daughter of Luther and Clara (Davis) Harrison of Edison. Mrs. Green married Capt. William Lee "Buck" Green, III of Lexington, GA in 1953. Capt. Green, a graduate of West Point, was an Air Force fighter pilot. Mrs. Green lost her beloved husband in January of 1955. Capt. Green was killed in a crash, while flying out of Turner AFB in Albany, GA. Capt. and Mrs. Green had one son, Bill, who was eight months old at the time of the crash. Mrs. Green, a life-long resident of Edison, attended Mercer University and worked for many years as the office manager at Edison Peanut & Cotton Company.
Mrs. Green is survived by her son and his wife, Bill and Lynn (Ganus) Green of Sugar Hill, GA, and her three grandsons and their wives, Buck and Ashley (Peek) Green of Roswell, GA, Jake and Erin (McAllister) Green of Dacula, GA and Matt Green of Sugar Hill, GA.
A celebration of Mrs. Green's life will be held Sunday, March 6, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the chapel Lord and Stephens, EAST, Athens, GA. The family will receive friends and family beginning at 1:00pm. The interment will follow at Clark Cemetery in Lexington, GA.
