Athens - Mamie Huff Swann, died February 25, 2008 at Grandview Care Center.
She was born March 27, 1931 to Emmitt and Lois Hardigree Huff in Oconee County, Ga. She was preceded in death by he husband Joe S. Swann. She was a member of First Christian Church and very active until her health prevented her from being able to attend. She was a retired bookkeeper.
Funeral services will be at Lord & Stephens West Chapel on Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 2:30PM with Rev. Patrick Chandler and Rev. Ray Austin officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Carlas Allgood, Emory O. Carson, Quint Cable, John Townsend, Wilbur Mull and William Eddie (Bubber) Wilkes.
Survivors include son; David Lee Swann of Athens; grandsons: David Alex Swann of Athens, Holden Lee Swann, US Marines, of Pensacola, FL; sister and brother-in-law: Alma Huff Noell and Thomas E. Noell.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Sanctuary Renovation Fund, 268 W. Dougherty Street, Athens, GA 30601.
