Malvin D. Gunter, 87, of Athens, died June 26, 2018.
A lifelong resident of Athens, he was the son of the late Asbury and Doris Belle Barnett Gunter of Winterville.
He was a baker by trade. He worked for Davis House Cafeteria, UGA Georgia Center and Lee Epting Catering. Malvin was a member of Christian Life Worship Center.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Ruth Gunter; daughters, Cheryl (Donald) Cheatham of Watkinsville and Cynthia Gunter of Athens; son, Michael Gunter of Athens; 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private graveside services will be held.
The family will receive friends at Christian Life Worship Center, 125 Kathwood Drive, Athens, GA 30607, Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 2:00 until 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christian Life Worship Center.
