Maggie Nell "Nell" Payne

March 1, 1919 — November 25, 2016

Nell Payne, 97, of Bogart, died November 25, 2016.
Born in White County, she was the daughter of the late Wiley Bert and Maggie Davidson Moore. Mrs. Payne was the widow of Walter Prince Payne and preceded in death by two daughters and son-in-law, Joyce and Eugene Eades and Wera Jackson. She was a longtime member of Bogart United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Ladies Club and served in numerous capacities. Mrs. Payne spent her life serving her family and church. She will be remembered as an excellent cook, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great and great- great grandmother.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Walter Stanley and Vici Payne of Watkinsville; son-in-law, Darrell Jackson of Bogart; grandchildren, Kenneth (Suzi) Jackson, Terry (Ellen) Jackson, Jim (Angie) Jackson, Michele (Rickey) Poole, Stan (Julie) Payne and Christy (Wesley) Morris; 13 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services will be Monday, November 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, WEST with Revs. Travis Sneed and Megan Gomez officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Terry Jackson, Jim Jackson, Kenneth Jackson, Stan Payne, Wesley Morris and Rickey Poole.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Bogart UMC Building Fund.
