Maggie J. Brown, 89, died Monday, July 16, 2012.
A native of Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Laurens Gordon and Allean Wages Jones. She is also preceded in death by her husband: Thomas Howard Brown; son: Thomas Howard Brown, Jr. and brother: L.G. Jones. She retired from Colonial Stores after 25 years. Mrs. Brown was a member of Young Harris Methodist Church; Edtronouse Club, Widow-Widowers Club and the Classic City Western Square Dance Club.
Survivors include her daughter: Shelley B. (Nelson H.) Thomas; son: Lauren H. Brown; daughter in law: Janet Brown: grandchildren: Brent Brown, Chad Brown, Patrick Thomas, Caroline Thomas, Vincent Thomas, Jessica Brown and Zachary Brown.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 11am at Lord & Stephens West Chapel. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8, Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Lord and Stephens West is in charge of arrangements.
