Watkinsville - Maggie Lou Bradshaw Anderson, 85, widow of Bruce B. Anderson, died October 9, 2009.
Born in Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late Robert L. and Lovie Barton Bradshaw and was preceded in death by three brothers and six sisters.
During WWII, Mrs. Anderson worked as a welder for the U.S. Navy in Washington State and Charleston, S.C. shipyards. She worked for Westclox for 18 years and retired from Reliance Electric. Mrs. Anderson was a member of Antioch Christian Church, where she was active with the youth for many years.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2009, at Antioch Christian Church with the Rev. Jeff Wilkes officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Anderson, Joe Lavender, Wayne Bradshaw, Mike Carson, Kenny Dalton and Jeff Dalton.
Survivors include her children, Cheryl Lavender and her husband Billy and Larry Anderson and his wife Shirley, all of Watkinsville; grandchildren Joe Lavender, Susan Brower, Julie Glass, Jennifer Gabriel and Joshua Anderson; great grandchildren Allyssa Gray Berrong, Jessica Guerra, Ben Brower, Kelsey Rae Cole, Zachary Lavender, Megan Lavender, Maci Leigh Cole and William Davis Lavender; sister Ruth Guest of Colbert and a number of special nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2009, at the funeral home.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Antioch Christian Church Youth.
