Mack Caldwell

J McGinnis “Mack” Caldwell, 80, passed away on February 14, 2021. He was born on June 29th, 1940 in Athens, Georgia to Hoke and Doris (Dickens) Caldwell. Mack graduated from Oconee County High School in Watkinsville, Georgia in 1958. After high school, Mack attended North Georgia Military College and later graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s degree in business administration. Upon graduation, Mack began his career as a teacher and coach for Oconee County High School. This was followed by years of employment as a Human Resource Manager for various companies.
Mack married his childhood sweetheart, Jennie Berry of Oconee County, in 1960. They were married for 60 years and lived their lives together down the road from Mack’s childhood home.
Mack enjoyed gardening and tending to the many trees and flowers he planted around the property. He was also a history buff with a strong passion for reading and research. Mack will be greatly missed by his wife Jennie and his daughter Kay Caldwell of Estes Park, Colorado.
Due to Covid 19, a memorial service will not be held at this time. Lord and Stephens West is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to your favorite charity.
