Winterville - Mabel Hardeman Pittard, 81, died Friday, July 31, 2009 at her residence.
A native of Oglethorpe County, she was the daughter of the late James T. and Rosa Carter Hardeman. She was also preceded in death by her first husband Ware Pittard and her second husband, Joe Burroughs. She had taught for Oglethorpe County High School as a substitute teacher.
Survivors include her four children: Richard (Annette) Aaron of Crawford, Donna (James) Whitt of Conley, GA, Joy (Mike Shelton) White of Winterville, Billy (Missy) Pittard of Winterville; sister: Kathleen Hardeman of Winterville; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 2, 2009 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Palmer Rehberg and Rev. Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Winterville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Hardeman, Tommy Hardeman, Kenny Hodges, Jimmy Hodges, Dub Melton and Erwin Hardeman. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 1, 2009 from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to the Winterville Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund, P.O. Box 414, Winterville, GA 30683.
