Lizzie Ruth Patton, 75, passed away January 18, 2009.
A native of Oconee County, she was a daughter of the late William David Willoughby and Vallie Barton Willoughby Lovern and the widow of Herbert David Patton. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Vickie Dianne Patton; two brothers, William Roy Willoughby and Phillip Travis Willoughby; sister, Sallie Florence Willoughby Kidd. She was a member of Bethabara Baptist Church of over forty-four years and retired from Oconee County School System after twenty-eight years. She was a resident at Magnolia Estates for the last two years. Mrs. Patton will be remembered as someone who loved her life, family and friends.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST. Interment will be in Union Christian Church Cemetery, Winder, GA.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Patton Grier of Bogart; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Patton (James L.) Whitley of Bogart and their children, James Bronson Whitley of Athens, Christopher John Whitley of Buckhead and Shawn Michael Whitley of Bogart; two brothers and sister-in-law, Harry Thomas Willoughby and Barney Russell (Evelyn Walls) Willoughby, both of Watkinsville; a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
