August 6, 1952 — April 17, 2018

Ida Lynn Shelton, 65, wife of 46 years to Steve Milton Shelton, Sr., died Tuesday, April 17, 2018. Born in Walterboro, SC, she was the daughter of Carl Sydney and Mary Elise Stanfield Beach and Harry Lee Copeland, Jr. and sister to the late Barbara Diane Hansford. Lynn was a 1970 graduate of Oconee County High School where she played basketball and was a All-State guard. She retired after 26 years from Carrier Transcold as a Supervisor and was a member of Johnson United Methodist Church. She enjoyed the mountains where she and her husband Steve would ride motorcycles. She enjoyed watching football, and her greatest joy was watching her grandchildren play sports. Survivors in addition to her husband include their children: Kristy Shelton (Joey) Adcock of Watkinsville , Steve Milton "Sonny" SheltonJr. (Dave Baker) of Atlanta, Siblings: Gloria Sosbee of Charlotte, NC, Dwight Copeland of Walterboro, SC, Carl Lucky Beach of Charlotte, NC, James Allen Beach of Hull and five grandchildren: Gavin, Kailey, Dylan, Bradyn and Blakely. Funeral service will be held Friday, April 20, 2018 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel with Rev. Henry Shelton officiating. Interment will follow at Johnson United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 at the funeral home on Thursday evening. Lord & Stephens West is in charge of arrangements.www.lordandstephes.com
