Lynda Stalcup Simmons

Lynda Stalcup Simmons, 79, of Athens, died on Sunday, January 30, 2022.

Lynda is survived by her two children, Cynthia (Greg) Thaxton and Andrea (Erle) Dorman; sister Sharon Guidi of San Francisco; grandchildren: Alex Thaxton, Jessica (Jordan) Daenen, Bailey Dorman, and Casey Dorman; and one great-grandchild who was the light of her life, Blakely Daenen.

Lynda was a strong, intelligent, and independent woman with a great sense of humor and the gift of gab. She loved color and pattern, which served her well in her successful business as an interior designer for Rich’s department store, Rhode’s department store, and Haverty’s Furniture. She loved the Lord and her family fiercely.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, February 4 at her daughter Cynthia’s home, 1051 Hickory Hill Drive in Watkinsville from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m.
