Athens - Luther H. Bailey Jr., 90, husband of the late Ethelyn Lester Bailey, died Sunday, May 25, 2008, at University Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Athens, he was the son of the late Luther H. Minnie Garrison Bailey. His twin brother, Louis F. Bailey and brother, Bill H. Bailey preceded him in death. He was a lifetime member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church. Luther was the former owner of Bailey's Roofing and Sheet Metal, which was started by his father. Luther and his brother Bill continued to operate the business until it was sold in 1989.
Survivors include his daughter: Kathy Bailey Wade and her husband William Stevenson Wade both of Buena Vista, GA and step grandson, Jason Wade of Columbus, GA.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at 1 p.m. at Oconee Hill Cemetery with Rev. Bill Ricketts officiating. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Prince Avenue Baptist Church Radio Ministry.
