Athens - Lula Mills Janes, 86, wife of the late William F. "Bill" Janes, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, November 23, 2007.
A native of Belton, SC, she was the daughter of the late Frank C. and Mary Bell Mills. She was a member of Bluestone Baptist Church and as a resident of Lanier Gardens she attended the services at the Chapel of Lanier Gardens.
Survivors include her two daughters, Mary F. (Frank) Stamey of Stafford, Va. and Ophelia (Edwin) Galloway of Nicholson; 4 grandchildren, Linda Dale Griffith, Timothy W. Stamey (Jane), Laura Kump (Kirby) and Ray Galloway (Barbara); 4 great grandchildren, Keely Mirianda Hildebrand, Kirby Kale Kump, Edwin A. Griffith, III and Michael Stamey Griffith; and one great great granddaughter, Genevieve Sedona Hildebrand.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel with Revs. Ray Jenkins and Ray Galloway, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Bishop Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Filkins, Mark Jenkins, Wayne Johnson and Tim Stamey. Visitation will be held this afternoon from 4 to 6 at the funeral home.
