Lucy Lee Prather was a lady of many hats until she was called home on May 15, 2017.
In her 97 years she was a mom, daughter, grandmother, provider, but she most cherished her title as a Godly Woman. Born on November 25, 1919 in Madison County, she was the beloved daughter of the late John Wesley Duncan and Maggie Lena Shelnut Duncan; mother of the late Troy Prather and Donnie Prather and sister to four brothers and one sister who also preceded her in death. She leaves to carry on her legacy her children: Melinda Guest of Athens, Paulette (Ray) McElroy of Easley, Douglas (Brenda) Prather of Athens, Trish (Ricky) Grizzle of Danielsville; daughter in law: Kathy Prather; fourteen grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with Rev. Billy Owensby officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the funeral home.
Ms. Lucy will best be remembered by those who held her close for her blue eyes that could brighten any room, her infectious laugh, and her smile that carried her though this life on earth.
