Lucile Marcus Motes, wife of the late Charles Oscar Motes, died Monday, February 16, 2015.
A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Larkin and Lizzie Sanders Marcus; mother to the late Patsy Wheless and sister to the late Omer Marcus and Charlie Marcus. Mrs. Motes was a homemaker and member of Statham First Baptist Church She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Survivors include her children: Ernest Motes, Barbara Bridges, Shirley Moon, Jerry Motes and David Motes; siblings: George Marcus, Effie Lou Smith, Mattie Crawford; ten grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 20, 2015 at 11AM at Statham First Baptist Church with Revs. Mike Vernatt, Gordon Thornton and Ken Bennett officiating. Pallbearers will be Steve Bridges, George Labollita, Harrison Labollita, Tony Motes, David Mitchell, Clayton Mitchell, Jeffery Wheless, Alex Lane, Mike Patton and Chris Patton. The family will receive friends from 5-8 Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the funeral home.
