Lexington, GA - Loyd Evess Mathews, 82, husband of the late, Pauline McCannon Mathews, died Thursday, February 1, 2007 at his residence.
Born in Oglethorpe County, he was the son of the late John Lee and Sallie Mae Harrison Mathews. He retired from Jefferson Mills and loved gardening.
Survivors include his sons and their wives: Douglas and Elaine Mathews of Rayle, Robert and Pam Mathews of Crawford; sisters: Viola Dale of Douglasville, Evelyne Moon of Lexington, Johnnie Lou Stevens of Washington; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:30PM, Sunday, February 4, 2007 at Burts United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held tonight from 6PM to 8PM at Oglethorpe Chapel.
