Louise Silcox, 89, of Winterville passed away on July 22, 2021 after an extended illness.
The daughter of the late Lacy and Marie Raulerson, Louise was born in St. George, GA and spent her childhood and early adult life in Palmdale and Moore Haven, FL. She and her family moved to Athens in 1970.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Silcox; sisters, Opal Green and Millie Crawford; and a brother J.L. Raulerson.
Louise is survived a daughter, Lou Anne Sharp (John); a son, Tate Silcox (Theresa); two granddaughters, Annie Sharp and Sarah Sharp; her loving dog, Holly; by her brother Lonnie Raulerson (Sue) and her sister, Anne Nesbitt (Charles). She had 14 nieces and nephews and 24 great-nieces and great-nephews.
Louise was an incredible seamstress, an avid gardener, and there were few things she couldn’t build or repair. She never passed up a chance to rescue a stray, whether an animal or a human, who needed help. She asked that her friends remember her fondly and requested no memorial service.
To honor her memory, donations may be made in her name to the Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter at moaspets.com .
