Watkinsville, GA - Louise C. Jones, 95, died October 4, 2010.
Born in Worth County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Micajah Whitten and Kitty Marie Ricks Chesnutt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Henderson Jones, grandson, Michael Henderson Ellis, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
Mrs. Jones was a longtime resident of Tifton and member of Salem Baptist Church. She made her home in Watkinsville since 1993 and as her health permitted, attended Oconee River Methodist Church. She was a loving and devoted homemaker.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Oconee River Methodist Church (Oconee Chapel), 2370 Hog Mountain Road (Hwy. 53), Watkinsville, GA 30677 with Rev. C. Richard Hoard officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time. Interment will be Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Tifton, GA.
Survivors include her daughters, Charlotte J. Goff of Atlanta, Linda J. Ellis (Larry) of Stockbridge and Carol E. Jones of Watkinsville; grandson, David Larry Ellis and 2 great grandchildren, Lauren Ellis and Jordan Ellis.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to Oconee River Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 1349, Watkinsville, GA 30677.
