Crawford - Lona Thomas Dockery, 86, wife of the late Sherman Dockery, died December 29, 2010 at Quiet Oaks Nursing Home.
Born in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late Vocal I. Thomas and Alice Miller Thomas. She retired from Jefferson Mills and was a member of Edwards Baptist Church . In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters: Isabell Brooks and Frances Thomas and brother, Herman Thomas.
Survivors include her sisters, Shirley Owensby of Colbert, Lottie England of Crawford and brother, Alford Thomas of Crawford and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 3, 2011 at 11AM at Lord & Stephens Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Nathan Palmer officiating. Burial will follow at Crawford City Cemetery . The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 Sunday, January 2, 2011 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Edwards Baptist Church .
