Athens - Lola Mae Reese Smith, age 74, of Athens, Ga., died Monday, August 6, 2007 at St. Mary's Hospice House following an extended illness.
Born in Hart County on march 30, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Comer and Etta Smith Reese, she retired from Peterson Springs as a machine operator, and was of the Methodist Faith.
She was preceded in death by brothers: Joe, Bud, Curtis, Howard, and Charles Reese.
Surviving are special friend, Bobby Ashley of Athens; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Tim Whithead of Hull, Ga.; grandchildren, Jo Anne Dean and Diane Marchman; great-grandchildren, Justin Patterson, Danielle Marchman, and Jessie Dean.
Funeral services are 11 am Wednesday, August 8, 2007 from the Lord and Stephens EAST Chapel with Rev. Buford Lockman officiating. Burial will follow in Princeton United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The body is at Lord and Stephens EAST, where the family will receive friends from 7 until 9 pm on Tuesday.
