Lois Sylvia Sanders

Lois Sylvia Sanders, 89, of Crawford, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.Born in Jackson County to Winston and Ruby White, Sylvia grew up in Winder, GA, where she married her first husband, Roger House, with whom she had her only son, Donny. After Roger’s death, Sylvia remarried in 1971 to Huey Sanders, and together they lived in Crawford, GA. Sylvia worked at the sewing plants in Winder, and in Crawford she enjoyed working on the family farm and caring for her many plants and animals. She also worked as a caregiver in her home for many of the neighborhood children.

Along with her parents and her first husband, Sylvia was preceded in death by her second husband, Huey L. Sanders, and her brothers, Herbert White and Sonny White.

Sylvia is survived by her son, Donny (Joy) House of Winder; sisters Frances Mincey and Hazel Thompson; three grandchildren: Shane House of New York, Justin House of Winder, and Dusty House of Winder; three great-grandchildren: Tanner House, Torri House, and Cora House and her beloved special friend, Jim Moncus.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 5 at Lord and Stephens, East Chapel, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m.
