Lois Payne, 72, died February 29, 2012.
A native of Athens, GA, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Willie Saye Williams Maxey and was preceded in death by her husband, Robbie Gene "Shorty" Payne. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Harry Maxey, David Maxey and Tommy Maxey. Mrs. Payne retired from Athens Regional Medical Center after twenty years and was a member of Bluestone Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 2:00 pm at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, Danielsville with Revs. Lamar Scarborough, George Lovely and Ray Jenkins officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include four children, Denise (Lamar) Scarborough of Bowling Green, KY, Randy (Jacki) Payne of Watkinsville, Teresa (Bryan) Gordon and Steven Payne, all of Hull; one brother, Richard Maxey of Colbert; two sisters, Beverly Dove of Danielsville and Kathy Keene of Colbert; ten grandchildren; one great grandchild.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00pm at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
