L. Lois Moore Klein, age 91, of Thomasville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2013.
Lois was born in Manhattan, N.Y., on May 22, 1921, and has also resided in Glen Ridge, N.J., and Crawford, Ga. She was a law librarian for U.S. Steel, in New York City, and was active with the Democratic Party in the Bronx, N.Y.
In Glen Ridge, N.Y., Lois was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and the Glen Ridge Women's Club. In Oglethorpe Co., Georgia, she was a member of the Crawford Baptist Church and an active member of the UDC and the Commission for the Elderly. Lois was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Lois was predeceased by her husband, William Kenneth Klein; daughter, Jane Klein Eichelberger; parents, Walter Hubbard Moore and Pauline Yeager Moore Frazee; brothers, Walter Moore and George Frazee; and sisters, June Hamill and Barbara Hogan.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Cullison, of Lake Santeetlah, N.C.; son, William A. Klein, and daughter-in-law, Deborah Klein, of Morrisville, Pa.; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at the Crawford Cemetery, with a reception to follow at the Crawford Baptist Church.
