Athens - Lois Gearing, 90, died March 16, 2007.
A native of Oconee County, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Mary and Willie Lee Bradshaw Butler, and the widow of Martin Gearing. She was also preceded in death by three children, Janie Brown, Roy Gearing, and Willie L. "Buster" Gearing.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 18, 2007. at 2:00PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST, with Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Interment will be in Moon's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include four children, Martha Bennett, of Athens, Patricia Hunter, of Hull, Marvin Gearing, of Winterville, and Charles Gearing, of Hull; one sister, Emma Lou Duncan, of Loganville; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren.
Great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Saturday March 17, 2007 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
