Bogart - Lizzie Taylor Arnold, 95, died June 24, 2008.
Born in Oglethorpe County, she was the daughter of the late John Quincy and Emma Echols Taylor and the widow of Felix Randall Arnold.
Mrs. Arnold was a 1935 graduate of Athens Business College. She worked for Royal Manufacturing Company, Almar Manufacturing Company and Mixon Discount Center.
She started studying art at age 65. Mrs. Arnold was a very skilled seamstress and talented at handwork. She was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church.
A longtime resident of Wilkes County, she was a former member of First Presbyterian Church, Pilot Club and was Past Worthy Matron, Order of Eastern Star in Washington and former member of Sardis Baptist Church in Rayle.
Graveside services will be Thursday, June 26, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Rest Haven Cemetery, Washington with Revs. Charles Jones and Amy Shorner-Johnson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Randy Latimer, Sanford Mixon, Keith Mixon, Dwight Mixon, Tony Taylor and Steve Tyler.
Survivors include her daughters, Beatrice Mixon (Wayne) of Bogart and Rose Simmons of Watkinsville; grandchildren, Randy Latimer, Sanford Mixon, Keith Mixon and Michelle Mixon; and great grandchildren, Holly Mixon and Stephen August Mixon.
Memorials may be made to Mars Hill Baptist Church, Milledge Avenue Baptist Church or the Masonic Children's Home.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
