Linda (Wood) Mathews

Comer, Ga. - Linda Ruth Wood Mathews, 64, died Tuesday August 28, 2012. A native of Madison County, Mrs. Mathews was the daughter of the late H.C. and Glennie Compton Wood and the widow of Walter Howard Mathews. Mrs. Mathews was a beautician at My Lady Beauty Salon in Comer, Ga.
Funeral services will be held at Bethany Baptist Church on Friday August 31, 2012 at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at the Mathews Family cemetery. Dr. Larry Greene will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Bridges, Dwayne Massey, Chris Wood, Mark Hennie, Johnny Hennie, and Graham Calloway. Charlie Compton will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Survivors include her children, Matthew (Heather) Mathews and Michael (Kelly) Mathews; sisters, Wilda McLeroy, Esther Hennie, and Kathy Maynard; brothers, Glenn and Dennis Wood; grandchildren, Chandler Bradshaw Mathews, Hunter Howard Mathews, and Margret Mae Mathews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6-8pm.
