Linda Louise Morphew Dottery, 79, of Watkinsville, died Tuesday, July 21, 2020. She was born in Bixby Knolls Maternity Hospital of Long Beach, California.
A native of Long Beach, Mrs. Dottery was the daughter of James Blane and Leona M. Morphew of Long Beach, CA. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She was the organist for her ward until she was physically unable to walk to the organ.
Linda married her husband, William B. Dottery, in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 20, 1960. They shared many happy times in many locations during William's military career. While living on the island of Guam in the '60s, Linda sold Avon products all over the island and was able to purchase a piano and other household appliances with the earnings.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Lori Clark, and her brother, James Blane Morphew, Jr.
Linda is survived by her husband, William B. Dottery of Watkinsville; son James F. Dottery of Norfolk, VA; granddaughter Ashley (Billy) Dempsey of Flowery Branch, GA; sister Gaynor Trammer of Redondo Beach, CA; and four great-grandchildren: Serenity, Haley, Judah, and Joyanna Dempsey.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 24, at Oconee Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Lord and Stephens, West Chapel.
