Lillie Ruth Strickland Browning, 88 of Colbert, Georgia, died Sunday, July 1, 2012.
A native of Madison County, Georgia, Mrs. Browning was a daughter of the late Clarence Milton Strickland and Eliese Conwell Strickland. She was a homemaker and a member of Moon's Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Millard Browning, a brother, William Troy Strickland, and a daughter, Patricia Ann Browning Parham.
Services will be held Thursday, July 5th at 11:00 AM at Moon's Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, at Lord and Stephens in Danielsville from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The Rev. Dan Fuller, Rev. Tom Dial and Wayne Browning will officiate. Pallbearers will be Ricky Strickland, Denver Strickland, Arnal Strickland, Quentin Browning, Michael Browning and Dwight Kinney. Honorary pallbearer will be Tommy Archer.
Survivors include five sons and spouses and one daughter: Clarence Millard (Sonny) and Harriette Browning of Watkinsville, Vernon Alton and Clara Browning of Danielsville, James Darrell and Lorrie Browning of Satsuma, Alabama, Robert Anthony and Susan Browning of Colbert, Deborah Joyce Browning of Colbert, and Lawrence Edward Browning and Brenda Thomas of Maysville, 15 grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren, a brother and sister in law Joe Paul and Peggy Strickland, and a sister, Florence Archer Williams, and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to Susan Browning, Peggy Strickland and United Hospice for their loving care and concern during Mrs. Browning's illness.
Lord and Stephens, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
