Eatonton - Lillian Mary Jasa Poore, 85, formerly of Athens, passed away on June 29, 2007 at the Putnam County General Hospital after a long illness.
Born on January 3, 1922, in Bee Nebraska, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Jasa and Agnes (Dvorak) Jasa.
She was the beloved first wife of Charles Lee Poore of Athens, whom she met in 1943 while he was stationed at the Army air base in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was a skilled seamstress, she loved animals, and her favorite song was "String of Pearls." She survived a lifetime of mental illness was great fortitude and dignity.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Poore of Providence, Rhode Island, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Agnes Rejda, of Lincoln, Nebraska; and a brother, Emil Jasa, of Phoenix, Arizona.
Graveside services will be held at 11a.m. on Friday, August 3, 2007 at the Evergreen Memorial Park in Athens with the Rev. Grady Wigley officiating.
