Bogart, GA - Lillian Foster McDonald, 79, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2009.
Mrs. McDonald was born in Cuthbert, GA, the daughter of the late John Samuel and Louise DuBose West, and was preceded in death by two husbands, Fred E. Tidwell, Sr. and Leon Foster. She lived in Marietta from 1952 until 2003 when she moved to the Athens area. She was retired from the Georgia Department of Labor and currently attended The University Church of Athens. She was a former member of the First United Methodist Churches of Marietta and Athens. Mrs. McDonald loved gardening, spending time with her family, and surrounding herself with beauty.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 27, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST with Rev. Parker James officiating. Graveside services follow at 2:30 PM at Kenessaw Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband, Ray McDonald, whom she married in August 2005; two children, Fred E. Tidwell, Jr., and Elena Hunter of Maitland, FL and Pamela (Harry) Daniels of Bogart; stepdaughters, Elizabeth (Kevin) Weinrich of Watkinsville, Tracy Molnar of St. Peters, MO; grandchildren, Bobby Tidwell, Freddy (Tonya) Tidwell, III, Nicholas Chrisohon, Drew (Katie) Chrisohon, Julia Weinrich, Noah Weinrich, Tyler Craig, Chelsea Craig, Ryan Craig and Jessica (Greg) Booth; great grandchildren, Eli Chisohon, Ryleigh Booth, Jaycob Booth and Levi Booth. Mrs. McDonald was one of nine children and is survived by a sister, Lounita Andrews of Albany, GA, and brother, Franklin West of Acworth, GA.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
