Lillian "pat" Stewart Massey

Athens - Lillian "Pat" Stewart Massey, 82, died March 24, 2010. Born in Oglethorpe Co., Ga., she was a daughter of the late John Mark and Hattie Hart Stewart and was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil "Smokey" Massey; sister, Robernell Tucker; and brother, Claude Stewart. Mrs. Massey was a member of Temple Baptist Church for many years. Funeral services will be Friday, March 26, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST, with Rev. Jack Fleming officiating. Interment will be in Winterville Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Barbara (Tony) Williams of Watkinsville, Ga. and Linda (Jack) Fleming of Gastonia, N.C.; grandchildren, Mashal (Tom) Kelly of Clayton, N.C., Michael Fleming and fiancé, April Atkinson of Reidsville, N.C., Melanie (William) Hawkins of Sharon, S.C. and Julie (Richard) Jenkins of Watkinsville, Ga.; and great-grandchildren, Jeremy Jenkins and fiancé, Candice Phillips of Atlanta, Ga., Carson Jenkins of Watkinsville, Ga., Karamie Robinson of Dallas, N.C. and Joseph Kelly of Clayton, N.C.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to the staff of St. MaryÕs Hospice House, Dr. James Brown and the nurses of Athens Regional Medical Center for their care and support, as well as Dr. Timothy Gibson and his staff.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
