Lillian Evans Lord

September 16, 1920 — December 3, 2011

Augusta, GA - Mrs. Lillian Evans Lord, age 91, of Augusta, passed away at Kentwood Nursing Home, December 3, 2011, following a period of declining health. Mrs. Lord was born on September 16, 1920 to James Robert and Katie Dean Evans in Winterville. She truly adored her parents and often times stated that they were the perfect parents. She also remained very close with her sisters throughout their lives. She met her husband, Jack in Winterville and they had a wonderful life together. Mrs. Lord was a very proud Air Force wife She took positions very seriously, helping to propel Jack's military career to high ranks. Jack and Lillian's son, Arthur who they took great pride in, was a helicopter pilot and was a casualty of the Vietnam War in 1968. After her son's ultimate sacrifice, she dedicated her life to veterans of all wars. Through her tireless work with the VFW Association, the Purple Heart Association, and also several others, she directly impacted the lives of thousands of veterans.
In addition to her parents, husband and son, she is preceded in death by two grandsons, Britt and Richard Lord. She is survived by her daughter in law, Sandra Lord, granddaughter Susan Bizaillion, four great grandchildren; Andrew Bizaillion, Savannah Bizaillion, Austin Lord and Jacob Lord, and several nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 06, 2011 from 10:00 until 11:00 AM. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM at Tuckston United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. William Edwards officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the Tuckston United Methodist Church Building Fund.
Lord and Stephens East is in charge of arrangements.
