Lilles Whitehead Miller passed away quietly on May 21, 2022. She was born September 14, 1930 to Lillious and Lorena Waters Whitehead. She spent most of her life in Oconee County and was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Carlton (Pete) Miller and her only son, Michael Otis Miller. She is survived by her sister, Julie Trigg of New Orleans, LA; three daughters: Pat Huff of Watkinsville, Martha James of Sterling, VA and Susan Provost of Bishop; grandchildren she was so very proud of: Georgia Smith of Ellijay, Rob Huff of Watkinsville, Clint Miller of Athens, Hannah James of Norfolk, VA, Esther James of Washington, DC, Joli Winstanley of Watkinsville and Beverly Provost of Bishop; two great-grandsons: Jacob Flowers of Fayetteville and Pete Smith of Ellijay, and several nieces and nephews.
Lilles could best be described as a hard working wife and mother who spent her entire adult life whole heartedly dedicated to caring for the needs of her family. She was reserved and rather shy but had a can do personality and excelled as a cook, gardener, and gifted seamstress. She sought to live a quiet and peaceful life using the gifts God had given her to honor Him.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25 at, Lord and Stephens Oconee Chapel, 2370 Hog Mountain Road, Watkinsville at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service, with interment at Huff Cemetery, 3071 Colham Ferry Road, Watkinsville.
