Lila (Lucas) Grimes

Lila Grimes, 99, died August 23, 2014.
A native and longtime resident of Oglethorpe County she was the widow of Paul B. Grimes. Mrs. Grimes was a daughter of the late Henry and Lizzie Lucas and was the last survivor of their sixteen children. She was a charter member and the oldest living member of Welcome Avenue Congregational Holiness Church.
Funeral services will be Monday, August 25, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Welcome Avenue Congregational Holiness Church with Revs. Clarence Reynolds and William Anglin officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Survivors include two children, Paul A. (Juanita) Grimes and Claude N. (Bernice) Grimes, all of Crawford; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons, Dwayne Grimes, Stanley Grimes, David Good, Rocky Miller, Jonathan House and Tim Scogin.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
