Lewis Neal Hix, age 78, of Cherokee Road Winterville passed away on Tuesday October 16 2012. He was the son of the late John F. and Ruby Hix of Commerce, Ga.
He was the former co- owner of Hair World Barber Shop in Athens. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Evelyn Rebecca Hix (Becky) ; sons, Jeff Hix and girlfriend Caryn Demorest of Winterville, Doug Hix and Daughter in law Kim Hix of Simpsonville, SC and daughter Sharon Hix and partner Tina Shelnutt of Winterville Ga. Grandchildren; Zachery Lewis Hix and Kelsie Elizabeth Hix of Simpsonville SC. Other survivors include his brother William F Hix of Winder, Ga. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are going to be held on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. at Lord & Stephens, EAST with Reverend Gene Pritchett officiating The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 6-8 P.M.at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Jackson Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Lung Association.
