Crawford - Leonard Gabriel, 90, husband of the late Frances Gabriel, died Thursday, November 16, 2006 at St. Maryís Hospice House.
Born in Crawford he was the son of the late Mr. And Mrs. William Marrin Gabriel and was also preceded in death by his son Donald Criswell. He served his country in the US Army during WWII. He retired from Jefferson Mills after 25 years and the University of Georgia after 10 years. Survivors include his sons; Michael Criswell of Winston, GA, Ray Gabriel of Crawford, Larry Gabriel of Athens, 11 grandchildren and many great and great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, at 3PM at Lord & Stephens Crawford Chapel with Rev. Samuel Dale and Rev. Curtis Hammond officiating. Visitation will be held tonight from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Temple United Methodist Church.
Lord & Stephens, Crawford is in charge of arrangements.
