Leonard Weyman Dantzler, 85, of Athens, GA died on June 1, 2021. He was the son of the late Taft E. and Carrie Gaynelle Dantzler. Though he grew up in Athens, his home of the last 52 years has been in Winterville, GA. Mr. Dantzler was a shoe cobbler most of his life and he was the owner of The Cobbler’s Bench. Mr. Dantzler served as a Ministerial Servant at the Winterville Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He loved camping and trout fishing in the North Georgia Mountains. He cherished reading his Bible daily. Mr. Dantzler was known for building many things, to include four family homes and many hand-made violins. He also sure knew how to pick a sweet mandolin. He taught and passed down to children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren the appreciation of music, teaching them to read and play music, too.
Mr. Dantzler was preceded in death by his daughter, Rebecca Lynn Dantzler, infant, and his son, Weyman Branton Dantzler, 49. Survivors include his beautiful wife of 67 years, Elaine Dantzler; daughters Deborah Edwards (Ray) and Loraine Harrison (Jay); son, Blaine Dantzler; nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, as well as too many other family and friends to mention.
Honorary pallbearers are: Ray Edwards, son-n-law
Jay Harrison, son-n-law
Jason Dantzler, grandson
T.J. Fitzpatrick, grandson
Mori Sonoda, great-grandson
Devon Sedlacek, great-grandson
