Leola Zulequa "Zue"Huff Nash, age 80, passed away peacefully Monday, March 28, 2016 at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Zue was born July 27, 1935 in Athens. She graduated from University Demonstration High School and attended business school in Athens. She married William Eugene Nash in 1956 after a two year courtship, and they enjoyed 50 wonderful years of marriage. Her career with Sears as an office manager lasted over 30 years until she retired. She was a member of Cleveland Road Baptist Church.
Zue truly enjoyed the simple pleasures of caring for her home and family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who adored her family and cherished every minute spent with them. Her family and her faith were most important to her. Zue, the wife of Rev. William E. Nash, served faithfully in his pastorates as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, soloist, and had many other responsibilities.
She is survived by her son, William M. "Mike" Nash of Athens and his wife, Bonnie Nash; three grandsons: Dylan Nash; Ryan Nash; and Trevor Nash of Athens; two sisters: Betty Ann Huff Sims of Athens and Annette Huff Parham of Newnan, and a brother, Herschel Huff of Bogart, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rev. William E. "Bill" Nash; her parents, Harry H. Huff and Burney Saxon Huff; brothers: Thomas Huff, Charles Huff, James Huff, and Edwin Huff; sisters, Joyce Huff and Loraine Huff.
The funeral is scheduled for Wednesday, March 30th at 3:00 P.M. at Lord and Stephens West Funeral Home, the family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park immediately afterwards. Reverend Robert Nash will officiate. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Stroke Association.
