Bogart - Leola McDaniel Baugus, 92, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother went home to be with her Lord on March 13, 2008.
Born in Gwinnett County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Ethel Mae Motes McDaniel. She was preceded in death by her husbands James Demett Whitehead (1947) and Cleo Baugus (2000), and a grandson, Ronnie Leon Whitehead. Mrs. Baugus lived in this area most of her life and was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church for sixty-five years.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 16, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Mars Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Buford Lockman officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Whitehead, Richard Whitehead, Eric Keith, Andrew Whitehead, Carl Hall, Andy Glenn.
Honorary Pallbearers are Adam Harris, Christopher Glenn and Jacob Odom.
Survivors include her daughter, JoAnn Keith (Thad) of Bogart; son, Leon Whitehead (Eloise) of Hull; sister, Lois Shelton of Bogart; six grandchildren, James Whitehead, Teresa Glenn (Andy), Richard Whitehead (Debbie), Wanda Odom, Eric Keith (Cindy), and Vicki Hall (Carl); eleven great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 - 9 p.m. at the funeral home and will also be at the residence of 1320 Hodges Mill Road.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Mrs. Baugus' caregivers, Doris Glenn, Myrna Quarles and Vista Care Hospice.
