Lendra Faye Cheek

Lendra Faye Cheek, 76, of Newnan passed away on January 24, 2023. Born on May 8, 1946, she was the Daughter of Otis David Edmonds and Cora Geneva Whalen.

Faye was a faithful wife, staying devoted to her husband even after his passing in 1995. She was a founding member of the Georgia Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S) in his honor in 1996 to assist families who have lost a loved one in the line duty. She loved the Lord and was a faithful servant.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Charles Cheek; stepfather, Richard Whalen; brother, David Leon Edmonds; Son in law, Jimmy Johnson.

Survivors include her children, Timothy Cheek (Angela), Lisa Farmborough (Mickey); grandchildren, Kandy Smith (Josh), Tori Johnson, David Charles Cheek; great grandchildren, Khloe Smith, Lincoln Smith, Brynleigh Smith, Ethan Smith.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Crawford Pentecostal Church with Blake Smith and Bishop Wineinger officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at the church. Interment will follow at Crawford City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Faye’s honor may be made to Crawford Pentecostal Church Building Fund at P.O. Box 239 Crawford, GA 30630.
