Leland Raymond Arney of Watkinsville, GA died on January 3, 2023.
The son of the late Raymond W. Arney and Viola M. (Grimminger) Arney, he was born in Massillon, Ohio on May 28, 1948 and resided in North Lawrence, Ohio.
Lee retired from FedEx where he worked as an auto mechanic. To say he was an auto enthusiast is an understatement. His ministry was teaching Sunday school classes. He loved studying and teaching the Bible. He held a master’s degree from Ashland Theological Seminary and shared his knowledge with many class members over the years. He considered himself a “Greek hobbyist” studying New Testament Biblical Greek. He also had a sense of adventure which led to many memorable excursions with family and friends throughout the USA.
Lee is survived by his wife who is the love of his life, R. Margie (Nunn) Arney; daughters Carmel Stokes and Melanie (Jason) Haley; and step-son Bill (Suzy) Lee. He has one sister, Lynette (Steve) Provard. He is a loving grandfather of five grandsons, Luke (Hayley) Hawk, Zach Thilo, Nathan Haley, Logan Haley, and Garret Stokes.
